Actually, Peter Smith who just won NCAA Men's title with USC was the men's coach when program got killed in 1991
Dan Campbell was before that.
They have intramural tennis that is growing. It plays a couple nights a week under the lights after the team finishes practice.
USTA & ITA (college tennis for NCAA) have a thing called Tennis on Campus which is club tennis. I've sent the info several times to people on campus but Recreation has not picked up the ball and run with it. And pushing ideas is never well received.
Given the new facility, the new Rec Center and our demographic... I believe club tennis would be popular.
Men's college tennis in intersting. I know Beachman and Rob were out at Indian Wells during the men's final this year. It is LOUD and ROWDY... kind of fun to watch. Big West men's tennis is not as strong nationally as the women but still pretty good.
Certainly would be a natural for campus recreation dept to pick up intramural programs.... but that might be 'work'?
